Why Pressure Isn’t Always Better

It’s tempting to think more pressure means a cleaner result, but high PSI applied to the wrong surface can do real damage. Stucco can crack, paint can strip, and water can get forced behind siding and trim where it has no easy way to dry out. Blasting algae off the surface can also leave the roots intact, which means the growth often returns faster and thicker than before.

Where Soft Washing Wins

Soft washing pairs low water pressure with a cleaning solution designed to break down algae, mildew, and grime at the source, then rinses it away rather than blasting it off. It’s the right call for vinyl and wood siding, stucco, painted trim, and window screens, anything where the surface itself is more delicate than the buildup on it.

Where High Pressure Still Makes Sense

Concrete, brick, and sealed pavers can generally handle higher pressure without issue, and it’s often the more efficient way to lift ground-in dirt, oil, and stains from those surfaces. The goal isn’t to pick one method and use it everywhere, it’s to match the approach to the material.
